CommentsWe were students at Bath Academy in the sixties. Sue was on the Ceramics/painting & drawing Institute (teacher training) course from 1963-66. Malcolm (Mac) was on the Institute course from 1965-68. We got married in 1968, both taught Art for a long time! Sue has just retired as assistant head of a large comprehensive and I am self employed having taken early retirement from the LEA advisory service in 1997. |

CommentsWhat a brilliant site - good to relive those carefree days when I could spend all day doing nothing but make pots (the downside was having to attend those interminable glaze lectures from David Green). Most of my pots from those days are lost or broken, but I still have pots by Sally Smith (a seagull cup), Roy, Henry Ziandi(?), Alison Coath (a small blue & white jug) and *Geoff Pickett. Would love to hear from anyone who remembers me. |
CommentsLooking for Fleur and Blomf, hope more mid 1950's info will start to appear during 2002!! |
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, especially to you Gerry with thanks for the site. |
CommentsI just loved going through this site, it has brought back so many wonderful memories. I am still painting and creating though I don't do much with it all, just hoard it, but hey! I must try and dig out some photos, a lot have been lost alas. I have not been too well and am confined to bed/house so seeing this stuff cheered me greatly. I am a vegetarian now but boy do I remember the bacon butties every morning... If anyone remembers me I would love to hear from you... I can almost taste those cheese and potato pies in the Royal Oak with a nice pint on art history lunch times very long dart throwing lunch times, sorry Robin... great site thanks.... |
CommentsI remember the Newcastle Brown Club when Jo Hope (senior Lecturer) caught us tasting the Home Brew in B12 and told us off!!! But he was encouraged to sample some of the nectar and ended up completely rat arsed like the rest of us. It's about time someone else from the 1965 - 69 intake made an appearance. Welcome onboard Mike - sculpture department - and a Merry Christmas to you! |
Happy Christmas to you all . . . only discovered this site today, 21st December. Recently moved and sorting out those boxes in the loft came across BAA memorabilia . . . photos, sketch books, library tickets, momentos . . . my time at Corsham was a real education . . . in 1973 I married Frances Kingsnorth who was at Corsham 1969-73 doing Ceramics. I started the Academy football team in 1968 and called it Praxiteles, we played the local navy team and the West of England and Cardiff Art Colleges, we always had a keen female following, I'll send a photo in . . . . and who can forget the Newcastle Brown Club that met on Fridays after tea in Jim Parker's room in Beechfield playing his silver guitars to Jimi Hendrix Electric Ladyland . . . memories of working and playing hard. |
CommentsHi, I am trying to find out information on Margaret Garland who taught at the Bath Academy of Art when it opened in 1946. I have a couple of small watercolours signed M Garland and was trying learn more about the artist and I am not having much luck maybe you can help. Thanks Roger MacLeod , Pictou, Nova Scotia, Canada. |
Just a 'happy christmas' to all readers! Especially you Gerry for the excellent job of managing the site so well - technology yet!!! Sadly I can't seem to catch anyone on the talksite as Oz is the rear-end of the globe and no-one is awake!!! I have been enjoying the additions to the various photo-areas no end - keep it up!! Cheers from down under, Rita. |
CommentsWell this is wonderful. A blast from the past that is really welcome. I loved my three years at the best holiday camp in Wiltshire. My mates included Martin Nolan - I can't find him anywhere now, does anyone know where he is? - Keith Yarker (fellow scouser) and Carl Harrison. Not to mention Kevin Ancient and Heather, Martin ? from Oban, Steve the sculptor from Swindon, Maggie from Devon...Dave Atkinson illustrator and lecturer and Big John Tooth senior. All the best to you all!!! |
Lovely to see some familiar names again. The website is great, I've been a fan of this website for ages and hats off to Gerry for all his hard work!! What halcyon days, wandering in bohemian fashion around surely one of the most beautiful colleges in the world, discussing art in an earnest fashion, embibing rat-enhanced cider and marvelling at the wonders of nature. Magic! The Halloween parties at Corsham Court were particularly memorable. Lots of love to everyone, thanks for a fantastically memorable three years. |
CommentsStill living in Cornwall! Like to hear from anyone who remembers me. |
CommentsWell it's been some time since I was able to access a bit of technology and check on the BAA site and I've had a great hour going through the photos and reading the messages. Now I'll have to spend a bit of time contacting some of the old lags directly. It's a great site Gerald, I have a range of Photos at home and once I can figure things out I'll post them on the net. Does anyone remember the Mr Bath Academy of Art calendar? It never got printed but I know Jane Foster has a contact sheet of all the semi naked guys, including Dick Goodie who got voted in for the front cover. I'll see if I can get Jane to send it in!!! Anyone with time on their hands who wants to drop me a line please do though it may take a while to get back to you, and sorry for not contacting you Neil Adcock, but I misplaced your address. Does anyone know what happened to Sally Smith?? Regards to you all...... |
CommentsBlimey! What memories (good and bad!) come back. And the names, Benno Zehnder, Ruth Zehnder, Mike Gray, John Furnival... |
Great site - so comprehensive. Brought back many memories, although they have never really left me. I have some photos somewhere and will try to locate them. |
CommentsWhat a great idea! Some names I am more than a little familiar - John Leipins, Simon Cork, Caroline Jefford to mention just a few. I am in contact with Steve Roe, David Theobald, Jennie Francis, Jennie Norman, Hamish Muir (who told me about this site), John Woodhouse (who works with me in Bristol). Does any one know where Phil Bawden is? |
CommentsThey do say "never go back". Rubbish. This site has been a marvellous experience for me, seeing so many familiar but strange faces. I was at BAA between 1978 and 1981 doing graphics under the mighty Benno Zehnder. I'd love to hear from anyone who remembers me (or doesn't). For the record I spent time in Ethelred House and 40 High Street. Along with Martin Walker, I used to do quite a few parties/discos at hostels. Being a Wigan lad, much time was spent discussing major issues at the Pack Horse, The Methuen Arms, The Three Brewers?, Cross Keys and others. Particularly love to hear from Simon Johnstone, Rod Clark, Don Whiteford, Susan Taylor, Kate Strachan, Ann Ramsden (ceramics), Jane Parker, Cloe, Calvin Davis, Bev Seth. Phew. Please get in touch. |
CommentsWe thoroughly enjoyed looking through the site. We are researching for a book on Stephen Russ who besides being a lecturer at B.A.A. was the designer of many of the covers for the Penguin Poetry Series as well as many other books. If you have any interesting memories of him from your time at Corsham please get in touch. |
CommentsNot a student, but a local who enjoyed BAA being there. Drank many bottles of Derek Pope's red! I think Corsham lost a lot when the college closed. Would like to hear from *Rosemary Matthews, ceramics student in 1975, now thought to be living in Leeds. I live in Adelaide, South Australia, if there are any other antipodeans who want to share a memory of Corsham. By the way, the 'what was it picture' of a building in the High Street... was Barclay's Bank. *Rosemary Matthews has now been found - Alf Cousins 2019 |
CommentsAfter Corsham, I did a postgraduate diploma in Typography at Leicester Polytechnic (as it was in '71). John Pennicott and I got married in 1973 and settled in London. I went on to work as a designer in book publishing, however after 7 years I had a career break and now work in the theatre as an administrator. We have 2 children, one involved with the theatre and one studying sculpture at Chelsea College of Art. Life goes in circles! We would love to hear from anyone who remembers us from our time at Corsham. |
CommentsWould like to hear from anyone who remembers me and Alice Mitchell. We have a group photo taken in June 1971 which we plan to add to the website soon. |
CommentsBAA the scruffiest rugby team on earth, odd socks, no two shirts the same colour and some students playing in plimsoles. We did beat the Packhorse team one Sunday afternoon in a rather drunken game, and the fumes in the scrum were deadly. We also drew with the Royal Agricultural College Cirencester on their ground much to their surprise, the post game meal was good , but I couldn't understand a word they said with all those plums in their mouths! |
CommentsRight now visiting Brian Wall and Jan Lewis in Pangbourne with Caroline Jefford. We remember the good old days... ahhhh. Where are we all? How grey are we? How fat is Brian? Are we all fabulously rich and successful? Yeh, sure. |
CommentsCorsham....the government sponsored three year holiday...oooh (sighs...eyes slightly moist) but it had to be shut down, such a lovely place completely squandered on students! I'm amazed it was ever allowed in the first place!!! I had a wonderful time there. |
CommentsJesus .. I never thought anyone would take BAA so seriously...... I spent the most fantastic 3 years of my life, drinking in the Packhorse, painting, drinking in the Packhorse, flirting, drinking in the Packhorse, "smoking" , drinking in the Packhorse, making fantastic friends , drinking in the Packhorse .......Liz Biggin, where are you?, .......Charles Nathanal Clegg, where are you? ...Mike Stubs where are you? I am slightly concerned at the anal level of fascination with BAA.. yes it was great but..... historical documentation is a bit weird.. We all have our impressions of BAA so please accept this as such and not an attack. I LOVED being at Corsham, it's history etc., in fact a cousin of mine married his sweetheart in the church in 1942, so there in a family connection. but really.... |
CommentsWould like to hear from others. |
Thanks to Barry Biggins I was put in touch with this useful site. In 1998 I was able to organise a reunion for the years 1956-1960 (mainly for the 1957 intake) which we held at the Methuen Arms, because we were always refused entry when we were scruffy art students. If you want to be put in touch with people from these years I may be able to help. |
CommentsAs many of you, I was given the link to this site via friendsreunited and I was thrilled to see it. Enjoyed the photos too, it still feels a privilege to have "studied" at Corsham! |
CommentsI too stumbled across this site after first contacting friendsreunited. Talk about the memory floodgates being flung wide open!!! Looking at all the old places, the intervening 20 years just seem to vanish. I too have loads of photos from the 'Class of 84', some of which I might even organise for this site - including many from our more 'musical' moments; anyone remember 'The Wicked Feedbacks'??! If there are any other inmates from 81-84 out there (hello Cathy!) please drop me a line over the email. I've often thought that I should try and contact old friends from the past; this will be a great way to actually do it. Who knows, we might even be able to organize a re-union somewhere. |
CommentsGreat to find this. Hope that some who haven't made it to our recent reunions will get in touch. |
CommentsGreat site!! |
CommentsMick Downs? He was one of the tutors at St. Helens College of Art and Design. Merseyside, oh way back 1981 - 1983. It was he who persuaded me to attend Bath Academy. Class 1983 - 1986 Sculpture under the watchful eye of of Mike Pennie (I remember it well!!!) Sorry don't know where MD is now. |
Many thanks to my baby sister - and she's in her early 40's!, through her I found out about the friends reunited site and out of curiosity tried the Academy name - what delight to find this site. I was there during the fight with Avon Council to keep the single surviving monopoly. I don't think any photo's have survived my many moves and one particularly difficult break-up, but I shall have a rummage. My brother worked out of Bristol for a few years in the early 1990's and on one visit we did Corsham - so sad to see the decay of Beechfield House etc. The nissan huts that held some of the pottery studios almost falling through, ah! memories of frozen fingers as one tried to manipulate the cold clay - wasn't it great when Jack was 'doing a firing' folks! You Fine Artists and Sculptors don't know how we Potters had to suffer for our art...!! I was lucky enough to be ensconced within the Barn (horseshoe) so winter months weren't too painful. |
CommentsI would be pleased to be contacted by anyone who hails from those far off days when Beechfield was at the end of a bike ride from somewhere out yonder at around midnight (and when one prayed that Bruce Kent had not locked the gates before going to his bed). |

CommentsOk, I stuck the mirrors on the mirror ball! (Brian) Remember...Nigel Collins' blue lurex dress, bacon rolls in the canteen, parties upstairs in the Pack and Royal Oak. What ever happened to...Gary Kidd (43 Pickwick), Helen Atkinson, Jenny Francis, Colin Timm? Still in touch with...Caroline Jefford, Nigel Collins, Simon Cork, Kate Cushion, John Liepins, Lynne Wilkes. |
CommentsI love the site, one or two photos from my time. I didn't have a camera in those days but have some 8 x 10's of a lavish Christmas dinner in the attic in no 40 - with the said Paul Coope who seems to get a lot of mention and others. Will dig them out and borrow a scanner sometime. Does anyone know what happened to Geoff, (forgotten his last name) in Fine Art, my year, who lived in G.... what was the name of that village near Monks Park? He drove a Citroen and always remained sober so that he could ferry us about! I was one of those who spent a year at Monks almost never to return, have mixed feelings about the place - not great for those with any depressive tendencies - difficult to articulate after a week with few visitors. I'd do it again though, with today's experience found Friends Reunited via Brian Wood and Jan Lewis who I met in Henley on Thames last week, surprise after 23 years - and then this. |
CommentsThanks for the link Jacqui. Great site, takes you back. Many memories, mixed emotions. Have to have a dig around for some pics. Personal details on the friendsreunited site if anyone wants to get in touch. Has anyone heard what happened to Keith Orange? |
CommentsThanks for the link - excellent photos and some sadness at the loss of it all. I only did my Foundation course there, but it was a wonderful experience. I'll try and look out some photos.... |
Studied graphics from 1978 to 1981 (I think!). I remember some interesting times studying under Benno (and Ruth) Zehnder, John Furnival, John Vince and Henry Cliffe, amongst others. Played in my first band there, and supported the Thompson Twins in the Union Hut. Bought and was electrocuted by a Bass Amp bought from a local who obviously knew better. Have done a great deal since in Germany, Holland and lately the UK, where I run a business developing software for the Playstation 2 and X-Box. |
CommentsWonderful site, wonderful years though no preparation for the real world. Among many places I stayed in was one of Nelly Logan's rooms in the old Huguenot terrace next to the bakers (good buns). Called by 3 years ago - same thin net curtains on my old room's window - Knocked on the door - Nelly still alive and kicking, looking exactly the same as 25 years ago. There must have been something good in the Pet Shop across the road. Any memories of Benno's trip to Lucerne's' Faching, heavily subsidised by Swissair and the Swiss Tourist Board? |
Just had another browse through the site and have at last got mobile and scanned in some pics from 59/60/61 - we are talking a LONG time ago!!!! Gerry will probably get them set up on the Who's Who any time soon. Thanks Gerry!! Cheers from South Oz. Rita (Rich) Mulcahy |
CommentsNostalgia overdose - great site and thank you to the person who listed the address from the friendsreunited pages on BAA. I married Angela (nee Fabian), who was on the same course, but sadly have had very little contact with anyone else from Corsham. The main exception being Jack Shirreff (runs printing studio in Shaw -107 Workshop), who is Godfather to two of our children! I run an advertising agency in Southampton, which I set up in 1983 after working in various design studios - even taught for a while on the Foundation Course at Southampton art college. I first stayed in a cottage on Box Hill but then moved to a (condemned) cottage on Bath Road and ended up in the flat over the 'Biker' cafe on the corner of the High Street - great for the pubs. Various drinking competitions spring to mind such as North v South - though the most frightening was the women's drinking contest! We did visit Corsham a couple of years ago and had a drink at the (or what was the) Pack Horse - now much more upmarket. I ended up sitting next to one of the locals - Eddy, who used to turn up at all the parties and still seemed to be suffering from when he landed on his head falling from a beam at a party in one of the girls halls. We would love to hear from anyone who remembers us at Corsham. |
CommentsI was quite amazed to find BAA had contacted me here in Cyprus and I must say that it is an excellent idea to get former students, especially from the days in Corsham which was quite a unique experience, in touch with one another. This took me back .. 41 years! from the first day I stepped into Corsham Court for my interview. I am trying to find some photos and other comments that may be of interest. |
CommentsIt brought a tear to my eye seeing all the old places again! I have LOADS of photos from the early 80's which I'll have to dig out from the loft and try to edit down to a representative few. I still see quite a few people from my Graphics course, although have totally lost touch with friends from foundation year. I'll keep visiting this site to see how it expands. Thanks, what a great idea. |
CommentsLike Peter Feltham, I was not a student, but I spent most school holidays at the Beechfield site with my father, also John Tooth (or Big John), who was a technician in the Silkscreen printing area and general handyman. He went to Bath with the move and retired in 1995. I still see Barry Millard and Ewan Wannop, who worked there, along with Don Newman, who used to be the gardener. It would be nice to know if people remember my father, he still gets christmas cards from a couple of students. |
Like many others I found this via friends re-united. No, Paul (Coope) that doesn't look like you, surely you didn't have a shirt with that collar! it is great to see pictures from the period I was there, didn't do much art at the time but had a wonderful time. Where else can you live in lovely old places, and have all that wonderful history (not the tutors) to play with. Have often wondered what happened to the threesome from ceramics, Roy, Liam and Wayne. (Roy, I lost the bowl you gave me). And also remember the Halloween party in the basement at Corsham court and the 'end of term ball' in the Canteen at Beechfield (and making the sparkly 'come dancing' globe out of a football and mosaic mirror tiles). Would love to be in touch with any of my fellow graphics students. I worked as a photographer and then went into IT, but still paint (horses), Benno, our Swiss head of Graphics, would not approve. |
I returned to teach Fine Art printmaking part time in 1974 and am still there although what was Corsham is now a department in Bath Spa University College. It is in a great location at the top of Bath. It would be good to see past students at the summer shows at the end of June if there is any interest in modern students and their work and not just a nostalgia trip. I would be happy to organize a tour and reception. There are still lots of recognizable faces still around amongst the staff. Get in touch if any of this is of interest. |
Student 1967-70, some of the best memories and happiest days of my life. I would do it all over again tomorrow. Went back last year for third or fourth time to be greeted by the keepers as another old student so a lot of us do go back. Gold Star for the site. I shall turn my photo boxes out and see what I can find. Still paint. Taught for twenty years in colleges, coming across Joe Hope, Michael Kidner and ex-student from my time, Phil Crozier. Now have a web site (patrickgoff.com) that features my art work. Like one of your other correspondents the unexpected find of this site through Friends Reunited brought emotion to grip me by the throat. Thank you. |
i wasn't actually a student ... my Dad was the caretaker/ handyman/ bus driver of the Monks Park site at the Ridge near Gastard. I lived on site with my parents and brother from 1966 until it closed in 1981. If you are interested in any information from me I would be willing to give it ... or to ask my dad (Gerry FELTHAM). |
CommentsIt was a great place to spend 4 years but I am not sure how much I learnt. Made some good friends, the best I have today. |
CommentsHave only been able to keep in touch with a few people, would like to know the whereabouts of more of my contemporaries, in Fine Art as well as Graphics. I paint full time and exhibit. What a delight to be informed of this beautiful web site. My years there were extremely happy. |
CommentsIt's great to find this site. I went back to Corsham ten years ago only to find that Beechfield had burnt down and all the huts had been demolished. There were nettles all over the rugby pitch and a terrible air of decay. Having done my ATD in Leicester I discover that the old Newark Street building had been demolished. Spooky! Having spent thirty two years teaching Art I've discovered I'm a crap artist, but good at bollocking kids! |
CommentsGerry - love the site - will now go root around in dark cupboards looking for old photos. Still in touch with a couple of ex-Corshamites, Bet Ayr (graphics) and Marion Walker (ceramics), and of course am still married to Grace Dandridge (ceramics) and have been living back in Bath since 1990 after 5 years in Japan. Now running Time-Slice Films and working worldwide in the film/television industry. look forward to seeing more. |
CommentsBB 1970-73. The real hard work started anno B.A.A. Have pleasant memories though of wine, women and hangovers! www.baldwinsculptor.com. Can also be found in California, U.S.A. |
CommentsHi, How far back do you want to go? I was at BAA in 53/54(!) doing the teaching course that was then its main business. Fine Arts students were an elite minority in those days. We painted in huts up in Beechfield grounds, lived in Monks Park in ex RAF huts, ate in The Court with Gainsboroughs on the walls getting flicked mashed potato on them occasionally, and all rode bicycles to get from one place to the other. We were taught by Peter Lanyon, Bryan Wynter, Terry Frost, Peter Potworowski for painting, Turnbull and Armstrong for sculpture, Litz Pisk, Helen Binyon, Riette Sturge-Moor for drama, and there were loads of other notables passing through giving us the benefit of their abilities from time to time. I wonder how many of my contemporaries are still around, and what's more how many of them are on the net. I'd love to hear from them if they are, as I can put them in touch with a few others. I'm glad I found your website, Gerry. It was through 'friendsreunited' which had a mention on TV one evening. Long may your peacock feathers last. Mine have only recently been thrown out as just too tatty to hold any more memories. Anno domini has even caught up with them! Yours, Maril Wrigg - used to be Maril Heslop in those far distant days. |
CommentsWhat a good idea! His name is Ryann (not sure about the spelling) etching tutor drinking coffee - worked with Dave Harding. I so enjoyed visiting the site. Maybe I will try to send a page ... Richard Farrington has his own interesting site - just search via > Yahoo > name. I keep in touch with a few folk - I will forward the site address to them. |
CommentsGood to see Paul Sproll on here. I was with him on the Institute in Education course 1963-66. I taught in secondary schools for 30 years taking early retirement from by last job as Head of Expressive Arts Faculty at Cavendish School, Hemel Hempstead in 1996. I am now doing lots of painting, having some exhibitions. teaching local adult ed courses and doing many demonstrations in acrylics to Art societies across the south east it would be great to find some others from that era! |

CommentsAfter teaching art for 20 years in schools in Wales and England and having during that time married and had a son, in 1986 I embarked on an American adventure that led me to graduate studies (MA & Ph.D) at the Ohio State University. In 1990, I joined the faculty of the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) where I am an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Art Education. I remarried in 1994 and live in Providence, Rhode Island. My only Corsham student contacts are Bryan Maycock - who is in Canada - and John Miles - who teaches in Hertfordshire. |
Just be looking at the pics. again and I seem to remember that the guy drinking in the cafe was the engraving tech/tutor. Unfortunately I can't remember his name but if you contact Adrian Hicken, who still lectures Art History in Bath, he might well know who he is. |
CommentsIt's nice to see that Bath Academy of Art exists in cyberspace given that it expired in reality about 20 years ago. |
Excellent work Gerry, found this site via friendsreunited and it brought back some fine memories, and the dodgy ones too. I studied ceramics and re-felt the coldness of the water when I saw the wheel room photos, and I don't remember Ultra Warm living up to its name in mid winter. I am keen to forward this site on to some of the people from my era, 82-85. I also have a stack of photos from this period, and if you're not careful, I might even scan them and publish! Site suggestion: Corsham band list, this place produced some notable noises, we have our memories of these which help to trigger more memories. I was in these two, at the same time!: the Faustino Five; screeeb lurve I also remember: Duran Duran Duran Keep up the good work |
Great work on the page Gerry. I am a real blast from the past as my dates are 1959 - 1961!!! Can anyone top that??? Great days though - so I hope someone else as old as I am can contact the site. I live in South Australia - in Adelaide - came here as an Art Teacher at a girls college in 1965 and have been here ever since. Will dig out some pics. and scan them to you Gerry ASAP. Am the proud owner of a copy of Derek Pope's Celebration of BAA book. Love it. Cheers, Rita (Rich) Mulcahy |

CommentsHi all, had another look at the photo page and came up with the following, Pg 2, Aongus Gordon, last time I saw him he was at Nailsworth Mill, owned by his family, which he was running as an arts centre, with Johannes Stoik, and Kerry? as well as his wife (partner) and children. The Alison is Ali Coath and went out with the chap pictured next to her, name unknown (its all down to age!!!) and the Denise was Denise Horler. For my sins I shared a room with Aongus for a year and Denise was in the room next door with Terry! That's about all at this stage I'll try and dig out old photos and get them off to you Gerry. Regards Paul Coope |
CommentsTo Neil Adcock, thanks for telling me about the site, and to all of my old mates out there who get round to reading this I hope, G'day. The First bloke on the top left of the first page of pictures is Paul Coope (me). I now live in Australia, haven't potted since college and spent most of my working life working for a range of environmental conservation organisations, anyone who cares to contact me can on my e-mail. I think the site is a great idea and hope it goes from strength to strength. I'll be logging on from time to time to see what's new. And how are you too Gerry you old bastard (quaint Aussie term). It's been an age since we were last in touch. Keep up the fantastic work. Hope to hear from anyone. Regards Paul.... |
CommentsP.S. The first photo is one of Tim..? I want to say Parker...but that's not right. He was in Graphics with Jan and I. The girl below to the right is indeed Rosie, the girl to the left was one of my best friends, Nicky Lintern - she married Trevor Richards, and I visited them once in London when I was on a vacation to England in the mid-80's. That's the last contact I had with anyone until I recently located my old roommate Mary Kenny in Scotland. Does anyone know Nicky's whereabouts, or anything about Neil MacKay, Emma Harvey, Mick ?, or the rest of the gang who lived over "Ultra Warm" in the high street or next-door?? Thanks again! - Claudia (Campbell) Callaway |
Hello Old Friends! - I'm sitting here at my Mac in a small country suburb of Atlanta, Georgia with silly tears streaming down my face! I can't tell you how many times over the past few years I have diligently searched for ANY mention on the web of our beloved BAA. Sometimes it seemed as if I only dreamed it all, and the college never in fact existed. I have often longed for a way to find and contact old friends, but never could locate anyone. Getting old(er) has a way of making you very nostalgic, and my days spent in England, especially Corsham, were the happiest times of my youth. Thank you so much, Gerry, for this wonderful "labor of love" and all your hard work. It has brought back so many great memories, I am bound and determined to make the trip back to the UK next year to see some of you. I would love to correspond in the meantime. Thanks and say "Hi" to Jan for me - I have several pics of her in my old photo albums! Warmest Regards - Claudia (Campbell) Callaway (graphics - 1977-80) |
CommentsGerry great to see the site up and running. I'll mail one or two people and let them know. Does anyone out there have Roy Alexanders new e-mail address? What happened to *Mick Downs? (painting 1973-76) Jacqui, which years were you at Corsham and which area? Lets have more photos! Cheers Neil |

CommentsHello Gerry Thanks for putting together such a good website. Like Jacqui I’ll certainly look in from time to time to keep up to date. I look forward to finding out what lots of ex-Corsham people are up to these days, and hopefully making contact with some of them. Ben Averis (painting 1977-1980) |

Hi Gerry Great new site and it certainly brought back some good memories. I am pretty sure that the girl with the long hair and sweater on page 1 of who's who, is Rosey Jones. I will get a couple of my fellow ex-students to check it out and confirm that for you. If anyone wants to contact me please write. Will be checking in a regular basis and might contribute a story or two, if I can remember through the haze of time. Jacqui Boyd nee Alden |

CommentsWelcome to this new website for ex-students of Bath Academy of Art when it was situated in Corsham. I hope you will find it interesting and be of help to you in making contact with some of your 'old' college friends. Good luck in your quest. Gerry |
