The monkey-puzzle tree is still a feature of Beechfield today. unfortunately it has now been felled 29/09/09
Sadly the canteen and some other trees have gone.
The blossom trees pictured on the right behind the magnolia trees were Japanese and their name allegedly translated into "The Emperor In His Carriage Turned And Stared". They were beautiful too, you could imagine an emperor stopping his carriage and staring at them! In spring 1984, I was a prize winner in a Polaroid Photographic Competition with click here for this photo taken elsewhere in the gardens.

Claire came to this years 2009 reunion on Saturday 27th June [organised by Maggie Swallow], and "stayed in a b&b in Pickwick, just like Charles Dickens...wandered the grounds of Corsham Court and its surrounding woods on the Sunday afternoon ...what a magic weekend, lets hope we do it again next year."
