Drew inspiration from many sources including Javanese puppets, Greek vase painting, English medieval manuscripts. Believed puppetry could be ‘a vivid way of exploring many aesthetic problems’ and could be ‘a fruitful means of linking different school subjects’. Her book Puppetry Today Studio Vista, 1966, called by Ellis ‘her testament as a teacher’, was illustrated by many of her Corsham projects.
