The State Rooms, Corsham Court

Nora died in 1958 and was laid to rest beneath the beautiful alabaster tomb in Corsham Church by the sculptor F. J. Kormis.

Shortly after I arrived at Corsham, I made the acquaintance of this 'gentle' man whom I often met in his beloved garden, where he 'painted' with flowers. Later, I restocked the pond in the rose garden with goldfish from our pond at home but had a problem with his housekeeper who would insist on feeding them with white bread which was bad for them.

Lord Paul continued to work in his garden, paint and sketch, enjoy music and take a wide interest in all things artistic until his death on 7th January 1974.

One of many magical experiences
