Clifford retired in 1972, it was his era alone. When he packed up, he 'wiped the slate clean'. He had a large bonfire and destroyed most of the records of his forty years, together with the records of those who studied there. There were other good principals but Clifford and Rosemary's 'child of our time' had come of age and times moved on for better or worse.
